Tempo Comum é um filme que não tem pressa. Suas cenas não pedem uma quantidade enorme de planos e cortes. Os acontecimentos acorrem de forma devagar e no seu tempo. Nossa personagem principal é Marta e o desenrolar de seu cotidiano é o que cria o ritmo para a narrativa.
Marta acaba de voltar de um hospital em Lisboa, onde teve sua primeira filha. Tudo é novidade para ela e Pedro – subir as escadas do apartamento com a bebê, amamentar, cuidar da casa, adequar uma nova rotina e a vida conjugal que se modifica. O começo de um ciclo de uma nova vida é retratado por Susana Nobre em seu novo longa metragem.
Neste momento inicial eles recebem visitas de amigos e familiares que contam histórias sobre a própria vida, casamento, trabalho e criação dos próprios filhos. Talvez esses momentos sejam os que mais caracterizam o filme pois esses relatos de diversas experiências, opiniões e anseios sobre o futuro trazem um tom de fluidez para aquele momento que apesar de ser tão marcante, é também passageiro.
A direção do filme é disposta do ponto de vista de uma mulher. As questões, angustias e posicionamento em relação aos temas que surgem durante o enredo são claramente femininos. Durante uma curta estadia no interior de Portugal, assistimos uma senhora idosa contar para Marta que no passado uma mãe tinha vários filhos sem ter a possibilidade de ir uma vez se quer ao médico mas que atualmente a situação havia melhorado consideravelmente. No mesmo local, uma mulher mais jovem relata o sofrimento de sua cesariana.
A narrativa combinada com os fragmentos das ações diárias dos personagens constroem uma grade reflexão à cerca da vida e o passar do tempo.

Ordinary Time is a movie that has no hurry. The scenes do not ask for a huge amount of plans and cuts. Events happen slowly and in their time. Our main character is Marta and the unfolding of her daily life is what creates the rhythm for the narrative.
Marta has just returned from a hospital in Lisbon, where she had her first daughter. Everything is new to her and Pedro - to climb the stairs of the apartment with the baby, to breastfeed, to take care of the house, to adapt a new routine and the conjugal life that changes. The beginning of a new life cycle is portrayed by Susana Nobre in her new feature film.
In this initial moment they receive visits from friends and family who tell stories about their own life, marriage, work and raising their own children. Perhaps these moments are the most characteristic of the film because these reports of diverse experiences, opinions and yearnings about the future bring a tone of fluidity to that moment that despite being so remarkable, is also fleeting.
The direction of the film is arranged from the point of view of a woman. The issues, anguish and positioning in relation to the themes that arise during the plot are clearly feminine. During a short stay in the interior of Portugal, we watched an elderly lady tell Marta that in the past a mother had several children without being able to go once if she wants to the doctor but that the situation had improved considerably. In the same place, a younger woman reports the suffering of her cesarean section.
The narrative combined with the fragments of the daily actions of the characters construct a reflection around the life and the passage of time.
